🚨
In an emergency, always call your local emergency services first.
FlexMatches cannot respond to real-time emergencies. If you are in danger, call 911 (US), 999 (UK), 112 (EU), or your local equivalent immediately.

Our Approach to Safety

FlexMatches connects fitness enthusiasts for workouts and training sessions. We take the safety of our community seriously. However, we want to be transparent:

We do not conduct criminal background checks on users. Profile information on FlexMatches is self-reported and has not been independently verified. You are responsible for your own safety when interacting with anyone you meet through our platform.

This page provides guidelines to help you stay safe. Please read them before meeting anyone from the platform in person.

Built-In Safety Tools

πŸ›‘οΈ
Trust tiers on every profile
Every profile shows one of four badges: New, Active, Trusted, or Vouched. The badge is calculated from real activity, such as how long the account has existed, how many sessions the person has actually completed, and whether other users have reported them. A New badge is not a red flag on its own, but a Trusted or Vouched badge is a useful signal that the person has shown up reliably for other partners. Profiles with a high number of reports lose their tier automatically.
🚻
Equal privacy controls for everyone
Two settings, same toggles regardless of gender. Visibility: hide your profile from male users, from female users, or pause entirely from Discover. Filter: pick who shows up in your feed β€” Everyone, Women only, or Men only. Both checks fire on every Discover request, server-side, before profiles are returned. The app cannot bypass them. Use whichever combination fits the partner search you want, including changing them as your situation changes.
πŸ“
Approximate location only
Other users never see your exact coordinates. The map fuzzes everyone’s location to roughly a 1 km area, and the client never receives raw lat/lng for other people. You can also hide your city entirely in privacy settings.
🚫
Block & instant report
Tap the report button on any profile, match, or message to send the report through to us. Blocking is instant and silent: the other user is not told. Reports also feed the trust tier system, so repeated reports can lower the reported user’s badge.

Before You Meet In Person

πŸ“
Choose a public location
Always meet for the first time in a busy, public place β€” a gym, a park, a sports center. Never agree to meet at a private home or remote location for an initial meeting.
πŸ“£
Tell someone where you are going
Let a trusted friend or family member know who you are meeting, where, and when. Share your live location with them if possible.
πŸš—
Control your own transportation
Drive yourself, take public transport, or use a rideshare app. Do not depend on your match for a ride β€” this ensures you can leave at any time.
πŸ“΅
Keep personal details private
Do not share your home address, workplace, daily routine, or financial information with someone you have just met online.
πŸ’¬
Chat in the app first
Use FlexMatches messaging to get to know someone before meeting. Be cautious if someone pushes to move to other platforms or meet immediately.
πŸ”Ž
Do your own research
Consider searching the person's name or social media profiles. Trust your instincts β€” if something feels off, it probably is.

During the Meeting

πŸ‘‚
Trust your instincts
If at any point you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, leave immediately. You do not owe anyone an explanation. Your safety comes first.
πŸ“±
Keep your phone charged and accessible
Make sure your phone has battery and is accessible in case you need to call for help or leave.
🚫
Avoid alcohol or substances
Stay sober during first meetings so you can make clear-headed decisions and react quickly if needed.
🏟️
Stay in populated areas
Stick to gym floors, public tracks, or sports facilities β€” places with other people around.

Warning Signs

Be cautious of anyone who:
  • Pressures you to meet immediately or share personal information quickly
  • Refuses to video chat or always has an excuse for why they can't
  • Becomes aggressive or manipulative if you set boundaries
  • Their profile photos look too professional (possible catfishing)
  • Asks for money, gift cards, or financial help for any reason
  • Gives inconsistent or vague information about themselves
  • Makes you feel uncomfortable in any way β€” online or in person

How to Report a User

If another user behaves in a way that violates our Community Guidelines or makes you feel unsafe:
  • In-app report: Use the report button on any profile or match
  • Block: Immediately block the user to prevent further contact
  • Email safety team: safety@flexmatches.com

We review reports submitted through the app and act on them where appropriate. Accounts that violate our guidelines may be permanently removed. We cannot guarantee user behavior, but we provide block and report tools so you stay in control. We cooperate with law enforcement when required.

Reports are confidential β€” the reported user will not know who submitted the report.

Online Safety Tips

πŸ–ΌοΈ
Be careful what you share
Avoid sharing photos that reveal your home address, workplace, or other identifying locations.
πŸ“§
Watch for phishing
FlexMatches will never ask for your password or payment info via email or chat. Report suspicious messages immediately.

A Note on Our Limitations

We want to be honest with you. FlexMatches is a technology platform β€” we connect people, but we cannot monitor every interaction, verify every identity, or prevent every bad actor.

We work hard to remove bad actors through reporting and moderation, but we cannot guarantee your safety. The most important safety tool you have is your own judgment.
